Discover Geneva, the spa town of Divonne-les-Bains and the surrounding area
Near Geneva and on the Swiss border, the Domaine de Divonne awaits you in a natural setting at the foot of the mountains
A spa town in the Pays de Gex, 15 minutes by car from Geneva, Divonne-les-Bains is located 2 kilometres from the Swiss A1 motorway (exit 10). Boasting 31 km of cycle routes, the town has about 9,000 inhabitants. A 10-minute drive from Lake Geneva (which simply must be visited!) and 30 minutes from the ski resorts of the Haut-Jura and one hour from the pistes of the Alps, Divonne-les-Bains is a town where you live well. Divona means “divine water” in Latin, and it is true that the water is a dominating feature. Its soothing properties have been used for balneology since 1848. The man-made lake and the fountains that pepper the streets evidence the strong connection between water and the history of the Divonne area. Welcoming, Divonne-les-Bains offers a wide range of activities, with its casino, golf course, racecourse, lake, shops and restaurants. Resolutely focussed on nature, it also offers a delightful environment that cries out to be discovered. It boasts a 1167-hectare public forest laid out with several hiking trails. For example, Mont Mourex offers a magical view of the Haut-Jura National Park, the Mont Blanc mountain range and the city of Geneva (also to be discovered). Having won the “4 flowers” award for the villages and towns in bloom competition, Divonne is known especially for its “zero waste” market on Saturdays and Sundays.
